About me

fullsizeoutput_155b.jpeg
I was born and raised in New York by my mother and father.  I am one of                                                  six kids, three boys, and three girls.  When people ask me where I fall in line                                             I tell them, "It's like the Brady Bunch and I am Jan."

God was drawing me to Him when I was just a little girl.
I remember sharing the first vision God gave to me in a conversation with my father.  I said, "I feel different from the rest of the kids."  He said, "What do you mean different?"  I said, "There's a light bulb over my head and it follows me wherever I go and I think people can see it."  My father said to me, "That is the Light of the Lord."

I began a career in Television and Film working as a professional Stuntwoman and Actress.  In the middle of waiting on tables and bartending some of the stuff I worked on includes, Budweiser, F/X, Ishtar and Batteries Not Included.  In the smash, Dirty Dancing, I was Jennifer Grey's stunt double.  Among other scenes, I am the 'girl on the log.'

I always knew I wanted to be used by God but, as a victim of sexual abuse as a little kid, I was pretty messed up for a long time and didn't think I was good enough for anything.  I lost my voice at an early age and pretended my way through life.  There are days when I am still a little intimidated by authority figures.  I was tormented emotionally and mentally most of my life with debilitating depression, anxiety, and fear.  My tainted self-image and sense of worthlessness led me down a dark path.  My will to survive fell far from the life I could only dream of and the will of God.

Then, one day, when I was at a huge low, Jesus left the 99 and found me in Tennessee when I visited my brother, Tommy.  Prior to my knowledge, my brother had an encounter with God and had been born-again. He gave me a book, "Power for Living" that led me to the prayer that changed the trajectory of my life.

It was the words that Patrick spoke directly to me on the log that day that would eventually become a pivotal moment in my faith years after Jesus called me to follow Him.

Today, my personal journey with God brought me back to the beginning as if no time had been lost. (Joel 2:25)  When I turned my pain to prayer I began to see myself as God sees me.  Today, I know who I am in Christ. What was meant to ruin me has become a raw, revealing testimony.  I was born to live and I live to tell my story by sharing how the power of God, through Jesus Christ, shines hope and healing in the blackest places.  I  found my voice and so can you.  No matter what it is you're going through God has a plan and purpose for YOU!  I wouldn't be alive if it weren't so.

It is with lots of humility, grace, and unconditional love that I share some of the darkest and brightest times of my life as I share real-life moments of my walk with Jesus as it parallels my dance with Patrick across the famous log scene in Dirty Dancing.

What I Believe

What I believe

I believe the Holy Bible is the inerrant Word of God written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Merriam Webster defines inerrancy, "freedom from error or untruths."1  While Paul was in prison he writes to Timothy, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)

I believe Jesus was with God from the very beginning when He created the world.  The Apostle John tells us, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He, (Jesus), was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1-3) Jesus is the Word.  Word translated is 'logos'.  Again, Merriam Webster defines logos as, "...the divine wisdom manifest in the creation, government, and redemption of the world and often identified with the second person of the Trinity."2  The trinity is, first, God the Father, second, Jesus the Son, and third, the Holy Spirit.  There is no separation between God and Jesus.  God is Spirit, Jesus is God in human form, and the Holy Spirit is Jesus in us upon receiving forgiveness and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior.

I believe the devil is real.  God appointed Lucifer to be His most adorned angel to minister music in the heavens.  But that wasn’t good enough for him.  No.  Lucifer wanted to be just like God.  He wanted the same honor and glory as God.  Lucifer's sin of self-pride was his downfall.  So, because of his rebellion against God, God had no choice but to throw him out of heaven along with 1/3 of the angels that followed him.  These angels became demons who are present in the world today.  Some of the names for Satan are; adversary and accuser (1 Peter 5:8), enemy (Matthew 13:39), lying spirit or spirit of lies (John 8:44), prince of the air, the god of this world, serpent, power of darkness, unclean spirit, murderer, the author of confusion, deceiver, the spirit that works in the children of disobedience

(Eph 2:2) and that's not all!  This is why people can be influenced by demons and/or possessed by demon(s). Peter tells us, "Be alert and of sober mind.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)  However, the Good News is God is also looking all over the world for those who want to know Him on every level and want to be used by Him in these days we live in.  Don't be deceived, know who you serve.

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those

whose heart's are dependent upon him.                        -2 Chronicles 16:9

I believe the tempter, Satan, deceived Eve.  When Adam and Eve sinned we all sinned and now we live in a fallen world.  A world that was meant to be perfect and without sin with a garden that was meant to expand over the whole earth.  This is how sin entered the universe and this is why evil exists today.  Satan is livid because when God threw him out of heaven, although he still has access to heaven, he didn't get a chance to be forgiven and become a new creation.  But, when you and I fell from God's grace we got another chance to get it right with God through Jesus!

I believe that God sent His One and Only Son, Jesus to die in our place.  I believe when Jesus died on the cross He had not only every disease but, every sin, past, present and future that you and I would ever commit in our lives in His body.  Jesus died in our place and for us so that we could be forgiven, receive salvation and have eternal life.  Jesus made right everything Adam made wrong.  This is why forgiveness of sins and the way to God is only found in the name and Person of Jesus Christ and no other.

I believe Jesus died for all.  There is not one human on the planet that Jesus didn't die for.  Christianity is all-inclusive.  On the contrary, there are those who exclude Jesus in order to fulfill their own fleshly desires.  When Jesus was on the cross He had you and me on his mind and nothing will ever change that.  Nothing. Jesus died to save the world and that means you and me.  Paul urged us, "...all petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ, Jesus who gave Himself as a ransom for all people." (1 Timothy 2:1-6)

All of this is why, I believe Jesus is the Son of the One True living God and that He died for me and you, rose from the dead and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father! Jesus is always interceding for us.  Yes!  He is looking down on you reading this right now!  Because Jesus died for our sins He is the only way, the only Truth, and the only life to look to and imitate, take instruction from and follow .......Jesus said, "I am the way, the Truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) Jesus is the Bridge between God and man.  Buddha won't get you there, Allah won't get you there, Confucius won't get you there, nor will any witch, psychic or any belief system you've adopted during your lifetime that is not in line with every bit of God's will, way, or Word found in the Holy Bible.  Jesus came the first time to save the world not to judge the world. When Jesus comes again at the second coming, He will come to judge the world.  If we continue to live in sin we will be judged according to that sin. If you don't believe me take it up with God.
