WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT

Jesus made it clear when He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me."  (John 14:6)  Because Jesus is the one and only Truth we have to start with the Person of Jesus where all Truth flows in order to know what God looks like.  We do this by developing a personal relationship with Jesus Who is the personality of God. When we spend time reading the Word of God we learn Who Jesus is and not who we think He is.  If we don't do this the truth will be flawed.  Pastor Steve Berger says it like this, "If we don't start with truth everything else is skewed."  We all have experiences in life that shape our thoughts and actions but, the outcome of an experience either good or bad does not always lead down a road of peace.  It's not about my truth or your truth.  It's about God's Truth that is found in the Person of Jesus. Don't be deceived.  Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  (John 8:31-32)  Jesus longs for us to know Him on a personal level.  He already knows us personally because He made us.  It's about us getting to know who we are in Him and who He is in us.  (For more see my Blog on, "Truth.")

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT PRAYER

When we pray together in the name of Jesus, God is in our midst and nothing will ever change that.  It's a promise He will never break, "Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."  (Matthew 18:19-20)  God hears us when we pray.  John tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - we know that we have what we asked of him." (1 John 5:14-15) Jesus said, "Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."  (John 14:13) "Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24)  For more see my Blog on, "Prayer."

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT PROPHECY

From the Old Testament to the New Testament the coming of Jesus was prophesied through the Prophets. Moses prophesied to the Israelites when he was leading them out of Egypt, "...God was going to give them a prophet just like him...." (Duet. 18:15) Isaiah prophesied that John the Baptist was the "person in the desert" who will prepare the way for the LORD."  (Isaiah 40:3) John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, "There was a man named John who was sent by God.  He came to tell people about the Light.  Through him all people could hear about the Light and believe.  John was not the Light, but he came to tell people about the Light.  The true Light was coming into the world.  The true Light gives light to all." (John 1:6-9)

From the days of Acts to the days we live in, every born-again, believer in Christ has access to the gifts of the Holy Spirit one of which is the gift of prophecy.  The prophetic word is a word(s) that is spoken on behalf of God by His Holy Spirit in us to the church or an individual at anytime. And, I mean, anytime!  Luke explains, "But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort." (1 Corinthians 14:3) In the end days that we are living in God reveals Himself, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." (Acts 2:17) This has nothing to do with us apart from God but, everything to do with allowing God to use us as vessels to speak His Truth into lives for edification.

The more intimate we get with God the more intimate He gets with us.  As we reveal our hearts to Him, He, in turn reveals His heart to us.  God longs to show Himself to us so He can work in us and through us by His Holy Spirit.  God uses us only to the extent that we make ourselves available to Him.  Don't be surprised as you continue to seek Him in a more intimate way that one day you will begin to see visions and have dreams that will give direction and build encouragement in your life and in the lives of others around you.  James tells us, "Draw near to God, an he will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." (James 4:8)

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE POWER OF GOD

After Jesus was resurrected from the dead He descended back to earth and showed Himself to the Apostles for 40 days. (Acts 1:3) Before He ascended back to heaven Jesus told the Apostles not to leave Jerusalem until they received the gift He promised to send them. (Acts 1:4)  "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8) God knows in order for us to accomplish the things He has called us to we need His Holy Spirit working in and through us to change hearts all over the world. There is power in the name of Jesus Christ and when we call upon His Name anything and everything is possible! (For more see my Blog on "The Power of the Holy Spirit.")

"Jesus prayed briefly when He was in a crowd; He prayed a little longer when He was with His disciples; and He prayed all night when He was alone..."

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers - it is to him you shall listen.           -Deuteronomy 18:15

"If you want truth to go around the world you must hire an express train to pull it; but if you want a lie to go around the world it will fly; it is light as a feather, and a breath will carry it.  It is well said in the old Proverb, "...a lie will go around the world while truth is putting it's boots on."
                                     Charles Spurgeon

TRUTH

"Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed e thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.  Amen"

Jesus Christ
taught us the Way to pray because He is the Way.

Father,

Give us eyes to see what You see,

ears to hear what You hear,

tongues that speak Your Truth,

and hearts that follow You!
